The New York Army National Guard is offering RE-3 Waivers for qualified persons wanting to reenlist into the Armed Services.
This information has been set up to refer prior service personal who have been discharged with RE-3/2 Codes to New York Recruiters willing to aid you to re-enlist into the National Guard regardless of what previous branch you served in.
While there are no guarantees that your application will be approved, we will do everything possible to make sure that you will receive the best opportunity at re-joining one of the best Armed Forces in the World. There are situations in which Waivers will not be approved (such as certain felony convictions, etc... see below). The maximum age limit is one day less than your 42nd birthday with some age exceptions for prior service personnal.
Do you want a second chance to serve your country? Do you need the benefits of having a new DD-214 with an RE-1 code, upon successful completion of a new Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) school ?
In order for us to process your application, we will need a detailed description of your discharge situation, your DD-214, your military records and other relative records such as photo I.D., Driver s License, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, Letters Of Recommendations from prominent members of society (local police, politicians, church pastors, co-workers, employers, school officials, etc...But do not send originals; send copies if we request them of you).
We want to know what you have done with yourself since your discharge. Any accomplishments needs to be mentioned (attending college, graduated, gainfully employed, has not been in any trouble with the law, etc...). Also, a personal statement stating what occurred, desire or interest in re-enlisting in the military and how you know you will succeed.
The process will consist of filling out an application for enlistment which will be submitted with copies of your military and personal records. Upon approval, you will be able to immediately enlist into the New York Army National Guard. This process can take anywhere from two to six weeks depending on the circumstances of your discharge.
